He has written a newspaper column on landscaping and has participated in the Pasadena Showcase of Design for fifthteen years both as a featured designer and as the Committee liaison overseeing overall landscape design.
He is currently appearing on the Home and Garden Television network show Landscaper’s Challenge. His design, which was selected by the client in competition with other designers, is featured on this program.
Ken has lived in and traveled throughout the countryside and tropical rainforests of Australia and since many of the plants used in California originated in Australia he incorporates much of what he learned there in his design. He also lived for a time in the village of East Grinstead in Southern England and uses this experience in designing English country gardens.
Ken started his own company, Bilheimer Landscaping, in 1979. He merged with Morrill Landscape Group in 2001- bringing with him his foremen who have worked with him for over twenty years. His unique designs and emphasis on quality- using the best plant material, the best irrigation and lighting equipment and the highest standards in installation have earned him a reputation as one of Southern California’s premier designers and contractors.
